Whenever the internet disagrees about a fact, we tell you so instead of guessing.

Shanaya Makani Quick Bio / Wiki

Who Is Shanaya Makani?

Shanaya Makani is an Indian dancer and social media creator based in Mumbai. She is best known for expressive dance videos on Instagram, a strong fashion sense, and her work as the founder of Beat Dance Studio. Many people first noticed her through a viral reel on “Sirra,” a song by Guru Randhawa. After that, she also appeared in the official music video for the song.

She is not a film actress, and she does not have a television career. Her fame comes from dance, short videos, music video appearances, and her own business. That makes her part of a growing group of Indian creators who turn online attention into real-world ventures, such as studios, classes, and brand work.

A quick note on names. If you searched for “Shanaya Makani,” you may also have seen results about other people with similar names, such as Shanaya Kapoor (a Bollywood newcomer and the daughter of Sanjay Kapoor) or Shanaya Khan (a different social media personality). They are not the same person. This article is only about Shanaya Makani, the Mumbai dancer and studio founder.

How Old Is Shanaya Makani?

Shanaya Makani was born on 20 February 1998, which makes her 28 years old as of October 2026. Her next birthday is in February 2027, when she will turn 29.

A few websites list slightly different birth dates, such as 28 February 1998 or 2 February 1998. Other sites only say she was born in 1998 and do not give a day. Because most sources agree on 20 February 1998, that is the date we use here. Shanaya has not shared a public birthday post that settles the question, so it is fair to call the exact date “widely reported” rather than officially confirmed.

Early Life and Ethnicity

Shanaya grew up in Mumbai, a city known for film, music, fashion, and dance. Living there exposed her to art and performance from a young age. Her father works in film production, so entertainment was never a distant world for her.

In terms of ethnicity and nationality, Shanaya is Indian. She was born and raised in Maharashtra, and Mumbai is still her home and work base.

Some profiles say she was shy and lacked confidence when she was younger. Dance slowly changed that. It gave her a way to express herself without needing many words, and over time it became her career. She also did not follow the usual path of training for years as a child. Reports describe her as largely self-taught in many styles, which she built up through steady practice.

Shanaya Makani Education

Shanaya completed her schooling at Utpal Shanghvi School in Mumbai. Several profiles mention that she took part in school cultural events and dance competitions, which helped her build stage confidence early.

After school, she studied Fashion Management at FAD International in Mumbai. This choice matters for her career. It helped her understand styling, colour, fabric, and how clothes move on stage. Today, she is said to design many of the costumes used in her own performances and by students at her studio.

One website claims she has a film production background from the New York Film Academy. We found that claim on only one site, and it does not match the other profiles, so we have left it out of her main education details.

Shanaya Makani Family: Parents and Siblings

Shanaya comes from a family with roots in film.

Father: Iqbal E. Makani. Her father is a film producer known for work in Bhojpuri cinema. He is reported to have made his debut as a producer with the Bhojpuri film Suno Sasurji in 2018. The film was made under the Dream Catcher Production banner and released around Holi.

Mother: Shabana Makani. A couple of biography sites name her mother as Shabana Makani. Other sites say her mother’s name is not public. Because the family keeps a low profile, we mark this as “reported” rather than fully confirmed.

Siblings. There is no reliable public information about brothers or sisters.

Growing up with a film-producer father likely taught Shanaya how entertainment works behind the scenes. She saw planning, discipline, and storytelling up close. Still, she did not simply ride on her father’s name. Her public career grew from her own dance videos, her studio, and her music video work. Her family is described as supportive but private, and she rarely shares family details online.

Shanaya Makani Religion

People search for this a lot, but the honest answer is that Shanaya has not publicly discussed her religion. One site lists Islam, while another says it is unconfirmed and only guesses from her surname. Guessing someone’s faith from a surname is not reliable, so we do not state it as fact. If she ever talks about it herself, this section will be updated.

Shanaya Makani Career

How It Started: Dance Videos on Instagram

Shanaya began by uploading short dance clips to Instagram. Different sources place the start between 2016 and 2018. At first, the videos were simple and casual. There was no big team or marketing plan. Friends and family encouraged her to keep posting, and her audience grew step by step.

Her style mixes smooth movement, clean visuals, and fashion-forward outfits. Her reels usually use popular Hindi and Punjabi songs, which makes them easy for viewers to enjoy and share. Over time, she added lifestyle posts, fitness clips, and behind-the-scenes looks from her studio.

The “Sirra” Moment with Guru Randhawa

The biggest turning point in her career came with “Sirra” (also written as “SIRA”). Her dance reel on the Guru Randhawa track went viral on Instagram. In 2025, she also appeared in the official music video for the song. One source lists the video as Guru Randhawa featuring Kiran Bajwa.

This moment moved her from “popular on Instagram” to “recognised across India.” Searches for her name rose after the video, and new followers, brand interest, and event invitations followed.

“Raho Bachke” with Jass Manak

One biography site reports that Shanaya also appeared in a 2026 music video called “Raho Bachke,” sung by Jass Manak. We found this on only one website, so please treat it as reported and check the official video credits when you can.

Beat Dance Studio

In 2019, Shanaya founded Beat Dance Studio in Mumbai. This is her main business and one of the reasons she stands out from many other influencers. A studio is a real, physical place with real students, so it gives her income and credibility that do not depend only on social media.

According to biography sites, the studio offers training in:

• Ballet
• Jazz
• Contemporary
• Hip-hop
• Heels
• Classical Indian dance

It is described as welcoming to both beginners and experienced dancers, with regular classes, private sessions, and weekend workshops. Shanaya is also reported to teach and to design costumes for studio performances. If you want to join, check the studio’s official Instagram page for current batches, fees, and location, because those details change often and we cannot confirm them.

Brand Work and Recognition

Brand deals and collaborations are part of her income, along with studio work and content. One profile says she was featured in On The Word magazine’s Creative List 2025, but that comes from a single source. Another site says she has worked with big names like Alia Bhatt and co-hosted a podcast, but we could not match that with other profiles, so we are not treating it as fact.

Shanaya Makani Movies and TV Shows

Many readers search for her movies and TV shows, so here is a clear answer: Shanaya Makani has no confirmed film or television acting roles. Some websites call her an “actress,” but her listed work is in dance, social media, and music videos. If a page claims she starred in a movie or a TV serial, ask for a source. She has also not been confirmed in any reality show or web series.

Here is what she does have:

Some profiles say she hopes to produce films in the future, following her father’s path. That is a plan, not a finished project, so we will watch for official news.

Shanaya Makani Net Worth

Shanaya’s exact net worth is not publicly confirmed. She has never shared her income, and no reliable business report gives a verified figure. Websites that list a number are guessing, and their guesses vary a lot:

The most common range is around ₹40 lakh to ₹85 lakh. The ₹3 crore and ₹560 lakh figures look too high for her current reach and have no solid backing, so we would be careful with them.

Her money most likely comes from:

• Brand collaborations and paid posts
• Beat Dance Studio (classes, workshops, and private sessions)
• Music video and event appearances
• Content on Instagram and YouTube

If her studio grows and she lands more big collaborations, her earnings could rise. Until she shares real numbers, “estimated and unverified” is the safest way to describe it.

Shanaya Makani Social Media

Social media is where her career started, and it is still her main stage.

Follower counts change every day, so check her profile for the live number. Older articles list “200K+,” and one site even prints “266 followers,” which is clearly a typo for thousands.

What she posts:

• Dance reels and choreography
• Fashion and costume looks
• Fitness and workout clips
• Lifestyle moments and behind-the-scenes studio content
• Photos of her cats

She is also described as an animal welfare supporter who often shares pet-related content.

Shanaya Makani Physical Appearance: Height and Looks

Sources give slightly different numbers, so here are sensible ranges instead of exact claims:

She has not shared official body details, so these are approximate. We have kept this section simple and respectful, and we do not list private body measurements. Her public image is built on dance skill, a clean look, and a fashion-aware style, not on any single number.

Fitness, Diet Plan, and Lifestyle

For a dancer, the body is the main tool, so fitness is part of her daily life. Profiles say she does daily dance practice, stretching for flexibility, strength work, and yoga. She also posts workout tips and is said to help friends and colleagues with their routines.

One article describes her diet plan as “balanced portions, plenty of water, enough rest, and short mindful breaks.” That is a general description, not a medical plan, and she has not published an official diet chart. If you want to follow a similar lifestyle, speak with a doctor or a qualified nutritionist, because every body has different needs.

Her lifestyle looks simple and modern: studio time, fashion, fitness, travel, and a love of pets. She is often called a “cat mom” by fans.

Is Shanaya Makani Married? Husband and Boyfriend

This is one of the most searched questions about her, so here is the clear answer.

Husband. There is no confirmed information that Shanaya Makani is married. Several sites list her as unmarried, while others say her marital status is “not publicly disclosed.” She has not posted about a wedding or a husband.

Boyfriend. Her current relationship status is not publicly confirmed. She keeps her private life private. One profile site mentions a past relationship with a person named Ayaan Lall, but we could not find a second source, so we do not treat it as fact.

Until Shanaya speaks about it herself, any relationship gossip is only speculation. Respecting that choice is the kind thing to do.
